Our U12 girls team coached by Chris Bizjak went undefeated and won their bracket at the Mountain Bay Cup over the weekend. Thanks to MC United for hosting this free tourney!
All Wausau United soccer players are invited to our inaugural Leading Edge Pre-Season Camp. These camps will be led by professional coaches Ashley Knutson of Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association and Division II Viterbo College and Fe Souza, Brazilian national and ex-FC Porto professional player.
To get our players tuned up and ready to roll out the season, we have invited Ashley and Fe into help our players work on fundamentals and skill development on consecutive weekends before our season games begin on May 5th. Each team will get four opportunities to train with these great coaches. All sessions will be held at South Mt. Elementary School’s soccer fields.
The cost? Only $15. Less you would pay for a babysitter! Our club is taking a loss on this event and we have purposely tried to keep the fee low in the hope that everyone will attend. In addition, each player will receive a free Wausau United string pack to hold their game gear.

Wausau Futbol Aficionados and the Wausau United Soccer Club are joining together to host a bus trip from Wausau to Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois to see an MLS soccer game between the Chicago Fire and the Los Angeles Galaxy. The date is Sunday, JULY 8, 2012.
Yes, that Los Angeles Galaxy. The team with David Beckham and Landon Donovan. Coached by former USMNT Bruce Arena. The game will soon be a sellout.
The cost of the luxury coach bus ride down to Chicago and back and a Premier Level ticket to the game is only $65! This is way cheaper than what you would be able to do on your own, plus you don’t need to drive.
The first 50, now 39, people to send me $65 per person will be on that bus and inside Toyota Park on July 8.
My address is:
Tom Wald
615 Broken Arrow Road
Wausau, WI 54401

Wausau United has secured Olympic Development Program training here in Wausau for 2000 and 2001 birthyear players. The training will be held on six different dates: Jan. 15th, 22nd and 29th, Feb12th and 19th here in Wausau with an all district session in Madison on April 15th. Training in Wausau will be held at the Boys and Girls Club from 10:00 – 11:30 am.
Wisconsin’s Olympic Development Program “developmental” age covers a player during their first two years in ODP. This year developmental players are those born in 2000 and 2001. There are no “cuts” at this age group. Trainings are primarily geared to improving a player’s skill set. Trainings consist of five 90 minute trainings in winter followed by an all district event. Trainings are done within the WYSA districts.
We need 20 players from our area to hold this clinic. As of now, we have about 11 kids registered. The sessions will be coed, so both boys and girls are encouraged to participate. Cost is $135 and covers all 6 sessions.
Please register ASAP by clicking on the following link:
https://ssl.hammersoccer.com/wisconsin/eODP/RegistrationStart.asp
Choose new player at the first prompt and then you will be asked for standard informational questions including medical and insurance. When asked to choose the developmental district, choose (Stevens Point) even though the sessions will be held in Wausau.
Sorry for the delay but registration for the coming 2012 season is now available. Please click on the link below to start the registration process:
